Commodity Search

The commodity search contains information on import and export tariffs, measures, procedures and relevant legislation, as well as links to relevant forms, for all products, organized by Harmonized System code.

There are two ways to use the commodity search function. First, and best, is to insert the 8 digit commodity code number (HS number) into the search box. You can locate the code number relating to the commodity you are interested in by clicking on the “List all” link and scrolling through the commodity codes. Second, you can do a word search for the commodity that you are interested in. However, this will only work well if you match the exact description of the commodity in the commodity code list. For example, if you are searching for mango you should enter the exact verbal description for HS 08045000, 'mangoes'.

While every effort is made to ensure that the information in the database is updated and correct, in case of doubt consult the officially approved tariff book and the Directorate General of Customs. In case of any divergence between the tariff book and the database, the tariff book prevails.
